A motorcycle journey to the high Himalayas

Ajit Harisinghani’s book about his journey from Pune to the high lands of Ladakh on a motorcycle is a captivating read. The journey is quite wittingly presented by the author as he transforms from the Indian peninsula to the highest mountain ranges of the world, the journey which flows in his mind along is also an experience to cherish.

The ajit’s maiden Ladakh ride which he undertook solo on his Enfield is filled with adventure and enthusiasm that flows throughout the journey.
It also depicts the courage that needed for such a journey through notorious Indian roads.

The long journey that passes through the states of Maharastra, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Delhi , Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu& Kashmir the vivid colors of our country is captured quite comprehensively: the saints and common people, the army men and shop owners, the guides and the travelers, he convincingly portrays every one’s life pictures.

But, this book is ultimately a travelogue, capturing the beauty of our diverse country was the central idea of the book :rivers, plains, lakes, snow-capped mountains, sand dunes, valleys & not to forget the high mountain passes. But, unforgettably the author has presented what he discovered in his inner self during this journey too.

Ajit has kept the flow of the journey nicely throughout the book, there is no point where you will find unnecessary boring details: conversations are short but interesting which is obvious for a solo bike rider.

Ajit’s book is inspiring for not only the bikers but also for the people who love adventure and believe in journey called life.
